Solana (SOL) Price in 2022
2022 was a difficult year for Solana. SOL fell from $170 at the start of the year to a low of $8.13 in December 2022, a decline of over 95%. The collapse of FTX in November 2022 severely impacted SOL's price and sentiment.

Solana's 2022 price history is one of the most dramatic in the cryptocurrency market. The year began with SOL near $170, already well below its November 2021 high of $260. The broader crypto bear market, triggered by rising interest rates and the Terra/LUNA collapse in May 2022, sent SOL below $30 by mid-year.
The most severe blow came in November 2022 when FTX collapsed and filed for bankruptcy. FTX and its sister firm Alameda Research held significant SOL positions, and their forced liquidation drove SOL from around $35 to below $10 in days. By December 12, 2022, SOL reached its bear market low of $8.13.
Despite the price decline, Solana's development activity remained strong throughout 2022. The network continued to process millions of transactions daily, and key infrastructure projects chose Solana as their home chain. The low valuations set the stage for the recovery that followed in 2023 and 2024.
